A total of eight startups have been selected to take part in the inaugural edition of Startup Next Warsaw, a Techstars program.

The program is headed up by Piotr Tuszyński and managed by GammaRebels, an accelerator run by Warsaw-based VC fund, HardGamma Ventures.

“We received a stream of high quality applications for the inaugural edition of Startup Next in Warsaw,” said Tuszyński, adding that “it was challenging to reach a consensus on which startups would take part”.

The Startup Next pre-acceleration program will run for six weeks starting on Monday January 18 at the Google Campus in Warsaw, and will see the participation of the following startups:

AdventurePooling – An online “adventure marketplace” for group travel.

Beholder.IO – An intelligent platform which allows for remote monitoring for construction sites.

uBirds – Makers of smart watchstraps and hi-tech fashion wearables.

Galante Games – A self-described “indie” game development studio based in Warsaw making apps for kids.

Numeral – An educational tool for the assessment of kindergarten children.

Leonis Apps – Warsaw-based software house with app-creation experience.

Nuevah – Cloud-driven SAAS reservation management system for small hoteliers.

Origami BioBandage –  Software for analyzing bone fractures and treatment optimization.

Congratulations to all those accepted into the program. If you didn’t get in this time, don’t worry, don’t hesitate to apply for future editions!
